Orosi Bible Study

Hello! My name is Randy Seiver. I have been living in Costa Rica with my wife, Vickie, for about seven years now. For the past four years, I have been leading an English speaking Bible Study in the Orosi Valley of Costa Rica. We are also teaching Bible studies in Spanish after our English study. The name of our Bible Study is Comunidad de Gracia (Grace Fellowship). The name of our little group expresses what we are about. First, we are a fellowship of like minded believers who are concerned with spreading God’s truth, helping the needy, giving biblical direction to the wandering, supporting one another in our Christian walk, and learning more and more of God’s purpose for us as it is revealed in the Scriptures. We are not at all legalistic in our approach to the Christian life but seek to thrive in the liberty with which Christ has made us free. Second, we emphasize the grace of God in the sinner’s salvation. We do not believe salvation is a prize we earn by our efforts or by our faithfulness to God. Instead, we believe it is God’s gift to undeserving and ill-deserving sinners. We believe the sinner’s salvation from beginning to end is God’s work to which sinners contribute nothing. Even our faith is but our response to God’s prior work in our hearts.

Our approach to the Scriptures is exegetical. That is to say, we seek to draw out of the Scriptures what God has put into them. For this reason, our studies usually consist of in-depth examinations of books of the Bible through a verse by verse, systematic exposition of the biblical text.

If you plan to visit Costa Rica or if you are living in the Central Valley and have been looking for a place to worship, we invite you to join us. We meet every Sunday at 9:00 A.M in the beautiful little valley of Orosi, Cartago. We are located approximately one hour South East of San Jose. If you are interested in joining us for Bible study, you may write to me for more specific directions. My email address is rseiver1@hotmail.com. If you wish, you may also request a detailed doctrinal statement.

Additionally, if you need accommodations in our little valley, we can help you find a place to stay that will suit your needs. We look forward to hearing from you.

Love the website. Wish I were there for every weekly study group. Excited about the commentary you’re working on as my second favorite book, after Romans, is Hebrews. (Still have the one you gave me on Romans back in your Lakeland liquidation days.).

We wish you could be here too. We appreciate your continued support of this ministry. Though the recording quality is poor, I am making the studies available on Dropbox. Let me know if you are interested.
